Leave Our Bones Where They Lay Named One of 49th Shelf Kids’ Winter 2026 Top Grade Picks!

49th Shelf Kids has highlighted a number of young adult books in their Winter 2026 selections, including Leave Our Bones Where They Lay by Aviaq Johnston.

Coordinated by the Association of Canadian Publishers’ Children’s Committee, “all books highlighted are from among the best new titles from Canadian publishers.”

Top Grade’s editorial coordinator, educator Spencer Miller, states that “this book would make a meaningful novel study. It is worthy of close reading and close consideration. It asks all the right questions of young people today.”
