The Toronto Star features the launch of Inhabit Books
The Toronto Star writes about the launch of Toronto-based bookstore Inhabit Books!
“When independent, Inuit-owned bookshop Inhabit Books opened its doors to the public on a recent November afternoon in Toronto, the occasion felt like a bigger celebration than your regular launch party….The idea behind the bookstore, according to co-founder Louise Flaherty, is: ‘to educate the world about the authentic Inuit language and culture coming from authors that live in Nunavut.’ And so in addition to the merely curious, attendees at the launch included authors and illustrators Aviaq Johnston, Ashley Qilavaq-Savard, Roselynn Akulukjuk, Sarabeth Holden, William Flaherty, Maika Harper, Jamesie Fournier, Jaypeetee Arnakak, Monica Ittusardjuat, Marcus Cutler, Joanne Schwartz, and Ibi Kaslik, some of whom had flown in for the occasion.”
