“Niptanatiak, a hunter and trapper, is a native of Kugluktuk, Nunavut, and expertise comes through in straightforward sentences, accessible vocabulary, and plenty of interesting facts, which should draw in young readers. McLeod‘s beautifully colored illustrations are realistic enough to be accurate but cartoonish and inviting enough that, for instance, the muskoxen all seem to have personalities.”
